The view once feature, which was earlier available to Android users, is now in the testing phase on the beta version of the iOS app. This feature is similar to Snapchat’s disappearing messages. In which, the message/media deletes automatically once the recipient opens it once.
The joinable call feature, which is currently only available in iOS beta, will get into the testing phase for its launch on the Android beta soon. According to the reports coming in Wabetainfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp features in the beta versions. WhatsApp has rolled out the 220.127.116.11 beta update on TestFlight.
What are the features in 'joinable calls' and 'view once'?
The messaging app is reportedly working to improve the call quality for both video and voice communications in its platform. Wabetainfo reveals a new feature in testing that will let users join group calls even in between the call.
Wabetainfo reported that a new joinable call feature will give you access to re-join a group call without asking other participants to add you again. If you temporarily ignore to participate in a group call, and you open WhatsApp again after some time, while the group call is still ongoing. WhatsApp will alert you with an option to quickly join the call, without asking other participants to add you again. You may find a “Tap to join” banner in the Calls tab and a “Join call” button in the respective group chat of the corresponding call.
The feature is currently out for the beta build of WhatsApp. The stable rollout is not available for messaging app yet. However, the development team is working effectively to incorporate the feature into the official app.
A new feature, called ‘view once’, also made its debut in the WhatsApp for IOS beta release. It is currently limited to Whatsapp Web and not available in mobile version. The feature is similar to Snapchat’s disappearing messages. Photos and videos shared using the new ‘view once’ feature disappears after they are opened once. If this new feature is already available for users’ WhatsApp account. The user will see a view once button while sending the media.
